Observational and Experimental Clinical Studies

Observational clinical studies are conducted to develop new ways to save lives from the disorder or to make the living conditions better. There are two types of clinical studies 

∙         Observational clinical studies 

∙         Experimental clinical studies 



Observational Clinical Studies

The observational studies are conducted on the group of people the research investigators observe the results of interventions given on the group of people. The intervention could be in the form of drugs, devices, and treatments. The observational studies are conducted with the aim to observe the effects of medicine or drugs on people living different lifestyles. 

Clinical Studies 

While clinical studies are different from observational studies. The clinical studies are going through the process of clinical trials. The clinical trials are the four-phase and each phase is like a single milestone for the invention of medicine, treatment, and devices. 

The designing of Clinical Studies

The beginning of the clinical studies starts with the research plan which is called research protocols. The research protocols are designed to find out how safe is the use of drugs and to get the answer to the specific research questions. The protocols made with the following information

∙         The eligibility criteria of the participants 

∙         Why the research has been conducted?

∙         How many volunteers or participants are required for the specific research

∙         The duration of the study means how long the clinical study will go

∙         The type of information about the participant in the research

∙         Maintained schedule such as the what type of procedures is in the clinical study, what types of medical tests have been conducted throughout the research and the amount or dose of drugs/medication. 

How can I participate in the clinical studies?

The volunteers are the participants of the research. To participate in any clinical studies first you should check the eligibility criteria of the volunteers that are included in the research protocols. Some clinical trials need healthy volunteers such as the drug or vaccine to prevent from particular disease and virus needs the healthy people because the Clinical studies in these types of research how safe the drug is, the response of the body and to check the efficacy of the drugs. These three questions are basically the aims or gorals of every clinical study is also same in the development of the treatment or medication for the people who are struggling with the specific disorders or diseases in this type of clinical study the Participants are eligible those are suffering from this disorder or disease.
