Hip Osteoarthritis is the Degenerative Disorder

Introduction:


Arthritis is considered as the inflammation of the joints. It causes swelling and pain in joints of the body especially in the knee and hip region . There are basically many types of arthritis. Osteoarthritis is one of  the most common disorders occurring at the later ages of life. The changes occurring in the body appear slowly and gradually. But there are many exceptions.



Types of arthritis:


Basically there are two types of arthritis

Primary

Secondary

Primary arthritis:

It is the most generalized arthritis affecting majorly hips, knee, fingers and thumbs regions.

Secondary arthritis:

It is the specialized form of arthritis which usually occurs after any type of injury or inflammation in joints . It may be the result due to the structural and functional changes in cartilage like hemochromatosis. 

How does osteoarthritis affect the hip joint?


As we already knew that arthritis is bad for affecting certain joints in which one of the joints is the hip joint. If people have difficulty in walking it doesn’t mean that they are suffering from arthritis. Sometimes diagnosis of the disease may be difficult. Because pain can be generated at different locations including groin , buttock, knees and thighs. After passing of time the pain can be stabbing and sharp and sometimes it can be dull but with the lapse of time it is going to be worse and the hips become stiff and hard.


Factors which lead to hip osteoarthritis:

The main causes of hip osteoarthritis is still unknown but there are certain factors which lead our body towards hip osteoarthritis which include obesity, overweight, age, stress and joint injury. In addition some of the factors ahs been described below:


Some of the joints may not be formed properly

There might be some genetic defects in the structure of the joints. 

The person may do extra laborious work or put some extra pressure on the joints either by being overweight or doing some activities that usually involve hip joints.

Stiffness of joints

Hardness of the hip area if you sit continuously in a single posture. 

Swelling, pain and tenderness in the hip joints

A sound of bone rubbing or crunching especially in the hip region.

Inability to perform daily task especially which involved hip region
