Clinical Research: Interventional & Observational Studies

Clinical Research is conducted to explore the new ways of treatments, methods, drugs, and devices. In other words, clinical research is developed to find out the new ways that make human life better. There are various types of clinical researches. Clinical research is divided into various forms because each clinical research has different aims. Clinical researches are can be outpatient and inpatient means in outpatient researches the participants do not stay in the hospital or research center while in the inpatient the participants have to stay at a hospital or in a research center for a few hours to days.

         Quality of life research

         Prevention research

         Screening research

         Epidemiological research

         Genetic Studies

Interventional Studies:

Interventional studies are conducted to develop new drugs, devices, and therapies or methods for behavioral change. Interventional studies are the type of clinical research in which random testing of drugs and treatments are tested. In interventional studies, one, two, or more groups are randomly selected. The drugs, treatments, or anything thing tested on one group while another group does not take the intervention. In the intervention research, the groups that receive the drugs and the group that does not receive the intervention are both groups not aware that either they receive the drug which is why the interventional researchers are blinded or double-blinded because subject groups are not aware that they are in the intervention group or in the control group.

 Observational Studies:

Observational studies are the clinical research in which participants of the research area are under observation. During the time of research, the researchers observed the outcomes of the drug or treatment on the participants. In observational studies, the participants are in a certain medical condition receiving the drug or treatment without any changes.

The difference between interventional and observational research

The difference between these two approaches for Clinical Research Studies in Las Vegas is the aim and organization. The interventional studies aim to collect more information about a specific intervention. In interventional studies, participants of the research are organized or categorized into different groups that receive different treatments and the results of each group are compared by researchers while the observational studies are conducted to get information about the disease, beliefs, diagnosis, etc. without intervention. In the observational studies, the researchers did not divide the participants into groups because they just observed the existent groups.
